I need to change the battery soon and wouldnt mind a number just in case.Automotive Forums. Hmm i just read the thread right before this one and you listed these numbers as a partial list of codes you will ever need.
Hi Just wanted to add a few codes. After having body work done on my Daewoo the stereo code was reset, and worked for my car's stereo. If it weren't for your post I would probably have had to pay some ridiculous amout for the dealership to reset the code, or try to buy it from some shady website.
Thank you, guys! I will give it a try. What is the order of pushing buttons? Just the code, or anything special? Thx, Anna. Second one worked for me! Just replaced my battery on Saturday, and didn't discover the radio didn't work until yesterday. Thanks again so very much! Take care! Thanks for this post! I lost my card recently and needed the code after picking up my CDX Wagon from the shop. I was so outdone when I couldnt find the card, and I started searching online for solutions.
The 6th code worked for me! Suzuki Forenza Thanks a ton for the list. Thanks a ton for the list of codes!! Thanks again! Some car radios come with an anti-theft feature that kicks in whenever they lose battery power. The code is almost always specific to not only the make and model of the radio but also to that specific unit. In order to obtain the brand, serial number, and part number of your radio, you will typically have to remove it. If you're uncomfortable with removing and installing a car stereoyou may be better off just taking your vehicle to a local dealer and asking them to reset the radio for you.
At this point, you have three main options available. You can contact a local dealer and talk to their service department, go directly to the website of the automaker that manufactured your vehicle or rely on free or paid online resources and databases. Where you choose to start is up to you, but the chances are excellent that one of these places will have the code you need.
In order to obtain a car radio from an official, original equipment manufacturer OEM source, you can either contact a local dealer or request a code directly from the manufacturer. Most automakers direct you to your local dealer, but there is a handful like Honda, Mitsubishi, and Volvo that allow you to request your code online.
Car Radio Codes and Decoding Specialists
If you decide to contact a local dealer, you will usually need to speak with the service department. You can then ask the service writer whether or not they can look up your car radio code. There is a chance that you will be able to obtain the code over the phone, but you may need to make an appointment to actually visit the dealership. You also have the option to just take your car straight to the dealer, where they will figure out the serial number of the radio and input the code for you.
If the manufacturer that built your vehicle offers online code lookup, you will typically have to enter information like your VIN, the serial number of the radio, and contact information like your phone number and email.
The code may then be emailed to you for your records. In addition to local dealers and OEM online code request services, you may also be able to obtain your car radio code from the company that actually built the head unit.
Some examples of head unit manufacturers that can provide car radio codes include:.
Every head manufacturer has its own policy in regard to car radio codes. In some cases, they can help you with any "personal" codes that may have been set by a previous owner, but they will direct you to the vehicle OEM for a "factory" code.
In other cases, they may require some type of proof of ownership to ensure that the head unit isn't stolen. Unlike vehicle OEMs, head unit manufacturers typically charge a lookup fee to find a car radio code.Discussion in ' General ' started by freefallinJan 3, Log in or Sign up.

Just Commodores. Retrieving radio security code Discussion in ' General ' started by freefallinJan 3, Jan 3, 1. I just got a head unit from the wreckers but its password protected. Is there a way to retrieve or erase the code number without having to go to the holden dealer??
Holden will charge me almost twice the price of the unit just for the security code. Jan 3, 2. The wrecker should of supplied it with the pin code. Go back to the wrecker. Jan 3, 3. Just checked with the wrecker, he doesnt have the code. Jan 3, 4. Either take it back to the wreckers as it is a brick, or ring Holden!
TatianaJan 3, Jan 3, 5. You need the VIN number of the car it came out of. Or, you need to find a serial number on the unit itself and then get in contact with the unit manufacturer. Sabbath'Jan 3, Jan 3, 6. The wrecker should of provided the vin and code when you bought it, if not if return it and go elsewhere.Log in or Sign up. If you bought the car brand new i'm pretty sure if you take it back to the place you bought it from they wouldn't charge you to get the correct codes. If they do throw a tantrum. Apr 17, 3. Hairy EaterApr 17, Apr 17, 4. They should not be charging for it anyway IMO. Already paid for the damn car and they put this up as a security measure.

How to Find a Car Radio Code
It all boils down to the simple fact that companys cant work for free. Im not saying i agree with charging for this service but its a fact of life. Some places do it for free, good luck to you if you find one. Throwing a tantrum may get the job done for free but is it really worth having all these strangers seeing you at your childish worst?
Doctor BobApr 17, Apr 17, 6. Apr 17, 7. Apr 20, 8. How'd you go? They searched some database on their computers didn't plug anything in to my car and said they get charged to do this and that's why they charged me. I don't think you should be charged either, by the way.
Apr 20, 9. They also gave me a VIP card for my troubles, which entiles me to 24hr roadside assistance, much like the one when you get with the 3year ,Kms deal. Apr 21, Sep 20, Anyone out there, I have removed my Eurovox radio unit from the dash using the trusty coat hangers and i am wondering if the 4 digit PIN code is on the top or back of the unit?
I can see the serial number, does the code come out of that number somewhere? Hmmm Pin number printed on the radio   No pin number on the radio anywhere unless someone wrote it on there You will have to give you local Holden dealer a call with your VIN to get it.
Some charge for this service and some will just give you the number. Don't tell them you took the radio out just say you had to replace the battery, I think thats what a Friend did in his and they just gave him the code. Cheers Robski Doh! If you want to chance it PM Spoocs he is a very brave man. He said on the forum that he can help. Looks like he works for Tony Ireland Holden.
Hang on giving the info out over the phone defeats the purpose of a PIN. They should ask to see your rego papers before handing over a security code. If you have the manuals with the car you might find it recorded in there somewhere buy the original owner. I find it amazing that they even have a PIN code on the factory head units in the first place.
They're hardly what you would call desirable. Kind of like when you see an old VL with a club lock on the steering wheel Are they trying to stop you from stealing the car, or are they worried you're going to steal the club lock More desirable than an empty hole in your dash! I always ask to see the radio fitted into the car, complete current rego papers and I must be speaking to the owner of the car with 3 valid pieces of identification before I'll consider giving it "over the counter" Tough but if you cant provide it I wont provide the PIN.
Whats to say after you knocked it off the car you didnt write down the VIN Exactly what I thought. The pincode for my radio in my car is in the front of the users manual but i take it you've checked there already Here's my twist. VT Berlina had decided not to eject a CD. Can skip tracks, turn it off, but not change to radio, pause or eject.
I think this has happened once before, so I did the same thing - took the fuse out, to then reenter the pin which I have to "wake it up" from it's confusion. Problem When using the preset buttons to enter the code, only 2 of them 4 and 3 as it turns out work. I have 2 other digits to enter, and can't get them registered as I type in the PIN. Result - no go. Any ideas? We only give out PIN codes with rego papers and proof of ownership. Is this the car you are selling? Dude, really, go and invest in a new stereo.
Music in 3 minute intervals It states in the manual that a "pin can be found printed on the carddo not keep this card in the car". So if you bought the car as a secondhand, the chance you will find that card is minimal, unless the previous owner actually remembered to put it back.
I didnt have one, but I service my car where I bought it so they gave me a pin for no charge. Yes, i was suprised one day when i rang a holden dealer in Adelaide and told the lass on the phone that i needed the code for the stereo in the vx ss funny part was, at the time it was still in my brothers name and he owned it and got it serviced regularly at this dealer.
I said i was the brother and battery went flat and my bro was gunna kick my butt. Can't find your factory car stereo radio code? We can help!
